Sledding
Sledding is a fun, activity you can do if there is a slope. If you don't have access to a sled don't worry, you can use a big baking sheet and slide on!
Building a Snowman
Building a snowman is a creative and exciting activity for all ages. After building two big balls of snow and placing them on top of each other you can add a face using peppercorns or buttons. Next, put a carrot nose on the snowman, if not you can totally personalize your snowman by using a cup, daikon ( white radish), or anything of your preference. Then, you can add your own personal embellishments such as a scarf or hat. This part is where you can unleash your creativity, go on adding jewelry or a scarf you knitted by yourself. Finally, use twigs for your snowman's arms. And don't forget to name your snowman (e.g Jeff, Bob, Kornelius). Now go ahead and start building your snowman, Olaf!
Tip - To make the big balls fill in a big mixing bowl with snow and flip it. Do the same with another bowl except smaller and put it on top of the big one.
Snow Castles
Building snow castles are loads of fun. Snow castles are the exact same thing as sandcastles, except you use snow. Pack a bucket with snow and flip it, ta-dah you have a snow castle. To add a personal touch, you can add twigs and leaves on the side, or accessories of your likings. Now go on and build a snow castle snow architect!
Snow Angels
Snow angels are a playful thing to do in the snow. Just rest in the snow and move your arms and legs, after doing that you have a spiritual snow angel!
Snowball fights
If you have a friend or family member you can have a snowball fight. Just ball up some snow with your hands and throw them at your friend or family friend - it is fun and it will not cause any harm!
Tip - Build a big snow castle/fort to hide when the opposing person throws a snowball at you
Snow Cake
Snow cakes are a piece of cake to make ( haha see the pun)! Take a cake pan and fill it with snow. Pop the snow out and decorate your "Snow Cake". You can use leaves, gemstones, or anything you want. You could also mix the snow with food dye to give some color. Finally, you have your snow cake - this snow cake is not edible - the snow has a lot of nasty germs and it is for play purposes only!
Sensory Snow Bin
Making a sensory snow bin is satisfying. You can put toys into a bucket of snow and play with it all day long!
This activity is recommended for kids 9 and below.
Snow Paint
You can whip up some snow paint in a jiffy. Just mix in some snow with food dye and create an icy masterpiece with it!
Now stay safe and have fun in the white fluff all day long ( or not too long - wanna avoid those colds)!
