BEFORE BOOKING YOUR TRIP TO GUADELOUPE

Before you book a trip to Guadeloupe, check if you meet all the requirements:

1. PASSPORT. You will need a valid passport. It must be valid for at least 3 months beyond your intended departure date and have at least two blank pages.

2. VISA. As a French Overseas Region, Guadeloupe follows the Schengen Visa requirements. Citizens from many countries in Asia, Africa, and parts of South America DO need a visa for entry (generally a Schengen Short-Stay Visa, or a specific French Overseas Department Visa).

   • EXEMPTIONS: If you are a citizen of a visa-required country, you will not need a visa if you hold a valid U.S. Permanent Resident Card (Green Card), a valid U.K. Visa, a valid Canadian Visa, or a valid Schengen Visa.

3. SANITARY REQUIREMENTS: No mandatory general vaccines are required. Yellow Fever vaccination is only required if arriving from a country with endemic Yellow Fever.

AFTER BOOKING THE HOTEL

After you have arranged all the above and booked your hotel, there are still a number of things to do to avoid an unpleasant surprise at customs:

1. Print your hotel reservation.

2. Have your confirmed round-trip or onward ticket ready.

3. Have proof of sufficient funds to cover your stay (financial guarantees).

Have all those documents plus your passport and visa (if applicable) at hand for presentation to the customs officials upon your arrival.
