Grand Anse Beach is Grenada’s most famous stretch of sand, a two-mile crescent of white sand bordered by turquoise waters. Lined with coconut palms and gentle waves, it’s perfect for both relaxation and water sports like kayaking or paddleboarding. With its easy access from the capital, St. George’s, Grand Anse Beach is the island’s most iconic and beloved coastal escape.
Inland, Grand Etang National Park offers a completely different experience. Nestled in the island’s lush interior, the park is home to a crater lake formed in an ancient volcano. Visitors can hike through rainforest trails, spot colorful birds and playful monkeys, and enjoy panoramic views of Grenada’s rugged landscape. It’s a must-see for anyone seeking the island’s wilder, greener side.
For a touch of history, head to Fort George, overlooking the capital, St. George’s. Built by the French in the early 18th century, the fort played a crucial role in Grenada’s colonial past. Today, it offers not only a glimpse into the island’s history but also breathtaking views over the colorful rooftops of the harbor and the Caribbean Sea beyond.

A SPICY EXCURSION
When I first set foot in Grenada, I was immediately embraced by the scent of nutmeg and cinnamon carried by the breeze. My week-long journey on this island promised relaxation, adventure, and flavors I had never known before.
On my first day, I wandered along Grand Anse Beach, where the turquoise waters stretched endlessly and the white sand seemed to melt under my feet. I spent hours swimming, sunbathing, and simply admiring the quiet beauty of the Caribbean.
The following days led me deep into the island’s lush interior. Hiking through Grand Etang National Park, I discovered hidden waterfalls and trails shaded by towering trees. At Annandale Falls, I dared to plunge into the refreshing pool beneath the cascading water — an experience as exhilarating as it was serene.
Grenada’s soul, however, is not only in its landscapes but also in its people and traditions. I joined a local guide on a spice plantation tour, where I learned how nutmeg, cloves, and cocoa are grown and harvested. The aromas were intoxicating, and tasting the island’s famous chocolate was nothing short of divine.
No trip to Grenada would be complete without exploring St. George’s, the colorful capital. Its bustling market was alive with laughter, spices, and fresh tropical fruits. From Fort George, I admired sweeping views of the harbor, imagining the centuries of history that had unfolded in this very spot.
