The Banx which is short for Poises-banx are one of my shots at a horrifying opposing force. They are a bio-tech group of monstrosities, artificers, necromancers, and more.
The Banx are inspired in part by various media sources but we do not claim creation in any manor.
The Poises-banx are of many different species. Some large and capable killers, some small and efficient workers, others mindful and magical. There are variations within the sizes but they all generally are more successful at different tasks due to their biology.
At an early age almost all Poises-banx are physically augmented at and early age in order to combat the various terminal illnesses that plague their populations. Some of these are to help the massive hunger of their larger creatures. Others to prevent cloning degradation. These diseases and illnesses have become so pervasive that in nearly every case they are carried over to the young.
Almost all Poises-banx are either cloned, birthed from eggs or newts, or necromanced.
Their name comes from two parts. Banx when used as slang means the dead and poises which is to make. They are called just "Banx", as most non-members think they should be dead or would have been a long time ago if they did not use tech, magic, and such aggressive tactics. The civilization itself has adopted this name because it scares so many and it works to their advantage. Its hard to fight what you fear.
Most of the Banx now live on a plane known as Machine Hell. It was originally a small plane but has been filled to the brim with artifice and magical artifacts. This plane also aids in the growth process and speed.
Unlike many creatures, their origins do not rely on Dragons, Primordials, Celestials, or things of that nature. It began with four beings who wished to make themselves not in pain. One from the abyss who couldn't otherwise live outside of such darkness. One from the void of raw energy who would die without consistent tribute. One of the stars who was too frail to make it to the planes. The last was made by humanity and left to die when it failed to aid them.
They gave their teachings and built up the civilization. It had many different factions and rulers all hoping to gain powerful and a longer life using their own methods.
The Banx wait on the plane of Machine Hell until they are ready to tear through onto their victim's plane with a portal and weaken them or lay siege gathering new space and resources to feed their growing and dying populations.
This embed will be updated with new creatures as my players encounter them. Feel free to use the Banx in your campaigns or stories for free as they can be adapted in many horrifying ways due to their contorted nature.
Will be completed soon.
