DARSSTHS grade 10 students’ 8th moving-up ceremony

         The grade 10 students of Don Alejandro Roces Sr. Science-Technology High School (DARSSTHS) S.Y. 2022-2023 had a promising farewell to their Junior High School (JHS) status with the theme "K-12 Graduates: Molded Through a Resilient Educational Foundation (Gradweyt ng K-12: Hinubog ng Mataas na Edukasyon).

The school heads, teachers, parents, and guests support the completers as they embrace the next step of their academic journey and acknowledge the students’ well-deserved efforts to allow the students to seize their moment together as they bring pride to the outstanding performance in front of everyone for what they had broken through.


DARSSTHS held the recognition that acknowledged the efforts and experiences the learners had been through.

The event started with Ma'am Rosario P. Nolasco for the Philippine National Anthem and opening songs such as the NCR Hymn, Quezon City Hymn, and SDO-QC Hymn, followed by the grade 10-Manuel Quezon Representative: Ms. Princess Anne A. Ituralde, who sang "One Last Time" by Jamie Rivera. 


The ceremony flowed with inspirational messages by Dr. Marivic Francisco, the school principal. Ms. Carleen S. Sedilla, the Schools Division Superintendent. Hon. Josefina G. Belmonte, the Quezon City Mayor. Hon. Marvin D. Rillo, Vice-President of the Philippines, and Hon. Sara Zimmerman Duterte-Carpio, Secretary of the Department of Education.

Other guests appeared, such as Mrs. Juliet Cerdon Mabazza, Representative of the Alumni Association. Hon. Randy Dela Cruz, Kagawad of Barangay Obrero/Representative of Congressman Marvin D. Rillo, Hon Egay Yap, 4th District City Councilor/Representative of Hon. Joy Belmonte. Hon. Irene Belmonte, 4th District City Councilor. Hon. Nanette Castelo-Daza, former Congresswoman and currently the 4th District City Councilor. Dr. Rowena A. Cacanindin, Former Assistant Schools Division Superintendent. Mrs. Perlita P. Depatillo, Public Schools District Supervisor, with the Master of the Ceremony, Mr. John Edmark Telesforo.

The endeavors were applauded as they stepped on the stage while carrying success with their certificates and medals.

Then came the farewell message of the batch valedictorian, Ms. Jovelyn F. Tabbu as she stood in front of her moving-up batchmates, prepared to execute her speech and share her thoughts of the whole JHS life. “January 26, 2019-for the first time, I stepped inside the Roces gate as a little girl who is ready to conquer all odds for her dreams. Anxious, yet brave enough to enter a whole new phase of her life.” She stated. “For the past four years, Roces was the home of many ‘firsts’ in my life,” she added. 

As the ceremony neared the end, all students sang the symbol song of their choice as the ending song of the ceremony: "The Climb" by Miley Cyrus, followed by the school hymn: "Himno ng Roces".
