FAQ

Why second edition?

Primarily nostalgia.  The most recent traditional D&D edition, fifth, has less content. Also, I've been dreaming about an AD&D campaign for decades and I'd like to explore that muse.

What about the problematic aspects of AD&D?

I think bigotry within the game world can be a useful storytelling tool.  I'll happily chat with you about it if you'd like. Bigotry outside the game is bullshit and has no place at my table.  If you're wondering why two adventurers of opposing races would adventure together, that's something that would have to be worked out in-game.

Is every person in your setting white?

Nope! There have been centuries of contact between the Warring Principalities and other Human nations around the world.

Distant parts of the world populated by other Humans are not fleshed out at this time.

But really, the nature of second edition AD&D is part of the feel we're going for here.

That said, I have streamlined a few things to ease and speed up play and I'm open to suggestions.

How difficult is the campaign?

What about Discord logistics?

I have experience DMing for long-running high-population online games. Of course I have more to learn, but I plan on working on this game in good faith. So long as the players are as well, I think we'll have a game we all enjoy.

Hey, you missed X!

If there's a race, class, or other rule I missed in the campaign documentation, feel free to send me a citation and I'll consider it!  Some races were not included because they wouldn't be logistically tenable in the campaign (i.e., water-dependent races), but otherwise I've tried to be as inclusive as possible.
