The name originated from the Ukrainian word "морок" which means "darkness" in its most negative connotation.
The Canis Dirus Serpentis(or Canis Dirus Draconis for winged type) - Morok is a carnivorous reptile-like canine, that originated from the Ukrainian Carpathians, which obtained a canine body with a mix of snake anatomy parts. Generally described as a huge rare and graceful predator.
A large, extremely intelligent predator whose head resembles that of a cervine crossed with a snake, some males and females have antlers and use their retractable claws against their enemies;
Has snake-like features and heat pits in its nostrils to help it locate its prey;
The spines can be moved as a defensive measure to produce a warning rattle, like a rattlesnake;
Although they are short-haired, they have a good, thick, fat-filled coat which enables them to survive colds;
Huge hulking beasts, often the size of a draft horse or an elk, and live entirely on meat;

Chameleons - use their colours to blend in when they do not want to be found like a chameleon, so they can completely disguise their outline;
the "cobra" hood - skin on their neck - can emerge and submerge out and into the neck. During fights or "dances", Moroks may expand this part of their skin to show dominance or its privileges;
Prystrit Moroks can disappear in clouds of black smoke;
They have a high pain threshold, but the stomach and eyes may be the most sensitive;
Love shiny objects, can steal people's things, put lots of shiny jars of stew on themselves and walk around like that;
can live in almost any habitat in the Carpathian Mountains and some have even taken to the air like a giant feathered dog dragon;
Can have smooth, almost suede-like skin and be warm to the touch - warm-blooded, scaled, furred or even feathered, but they are fearsome creatures to behold, like a creature from your nightmares;
Morok grow like shark's teeth and cat-like claws are long and sharp. They can also be hidden in the chops if the Morok so chooses. The older a Morok gets, the longer its canines become.
Dominant, territorial and overly protective animals with a fierce, almost untameable temperament;
They have the ability to transform themselves into different objects in the environment and may have chameleon skin;
As the males are larger, the females rule the Morok world. These animals have a hierarchy with a top female in the pack, which usually consists of her own "harem" as females are very rare. Each pack is purely matriarchal.
They are venomous and extremely dangerous, but if you can get close to them, you will be rewarded with immense loyalty and unconditional love for their owner. Some discover the ability to breathe fire.
Like parrots, Moroks can imitate voices and even put some words together with full understanding of what is being said.
To hear them is to feel the pits of hell have opened and the unearthly cries of demons have been let loose, to hear the Morok, especially when it is hunting, is a frightening thing to behold, indeed it sounds a bit like a bull elk, the Velociraptor calls from television, a call like a loon, the electric sound of an LED lamp and that of a mountain lion's roar. Quieter, purring sounds would indicate the Morok's good mood, sharper, aggressive, loud and fast sounds would indicate danger. The softer the sound, the more relaxed and positive the animal. The sharper/louder it gets, the more concerned you should be about its intentions.
