Several activities in the game require players to roll for a result. This page will explain how the rolls work and how to do them.
Rolls are divided into:
Depending on the activity, the rolls work differently. They are made in the Discord channel for rolls using the Dice Roller bot.
To use the bot, type in /roll (number)d(number) (ex 1d20)
The first number specifies the number of dice. (ex: 1 means you will get one number) This number is tied to how many results you want
The second number is the maximum of the range. (ex: 20 means the highest number you can get is 20) This number is tied to the specific list you are rolling from
Example: I am rolling for 3 common materials. There are 45 common materials. So the command is 3d45
The numbers the bot generates correspond to a number on a specific list.
Rolls always have to be done in the correct channel, and before you make a roll, you announce what you are rolling for
Admins have to check and validate the roll for the results to be accepted
If you are unsure, you can ask the admins to roll for you or to assist you
Some activities, like Hunting and Fishing, require a roll at the start that decides something specific about the activity.
In hunting and fishing, there are two types of rolls. Difficulty and Location.
If you choose the Difficulty, roll 1d8 for hunting and 1d2 for fishing. The number you get corresponds to the prey in your chosen difficulty level
If you chose the Location roll, look at the list of prey and the total number. Put that as the X into 1dX. The number you get corresponds to the prey in your chosen location.
To be added later
The success roll is always rolled 1d100, so from 100%
Your success rate is the number you need to roll below. If your success rate is 80%, then you need to roll 1-80 to be successful. If you roll 81-100 you are unsuccessful.
Your success rate can stack up and is determined by how prepared you are for the activity. Each activity's success rates are explained in that section of the page.
Example: you go hunting a fox, and you meet the requirement for the trait, so your base success rate is 75%. But you go hunting with your handler, which adds another 5% to your success rate, bringing it up to 80%. You roll 1d100, and get the number 60. That number is in the 1-80 range, which means your hunt is successful
Every piece of art gives art rewards, regardless of what it is. If you are unsuccessful at an activity, you still get the art reward: 2 common materials rolled from the common material list and a 50% chance of one uncommon material.
Activity rewards
Upon success, every activity brings its own rewards, which are determined by the activity itself.
Each prey in Hunting and Fishing has its own specific rewards.
If you go hunting or Gathering in a specific location, that location gives its own location-specific rewards.
Check the specific reward and amount of rewards for each activity and type.
if something says "X% chance of", you first roll a success roll, and then the reward roll if successful. (ex: 15% chance, you roll 1d100 and need to get 1-15 as a result)
first roll the art rewards: 2 common materials from the common list, and the chance of uncommon
if your activity success roll was successful, you roll activity-specific rewards: common, uncommon and rare materials.
roll the chances for higher rewards, and if successful, roll the rare material or item from the rare list or the item list
if there is a location reward, roll for it from the location material list, ex. mountains
some prey have specific rewards tied to them, always with 50% chance. If you are successful, you get ONE of the special items
Example:
I have a successful wolf hunt in the mountains.
Art roll: I roll 2d45 for two common items. I get 5 and 24, aster and cloves. I roll 1d100 for a chance of uncommon, but get 60 and am unsuccessful
I roll 4d45 for common, 3d30 for uncommon, 1d22 for rare, and consult the lists to determine my 8 materials
I have a 15% chance of an item. I roll 1d100 for success and get 10 and am successful. Then I roll 1dX from the items list to get the item
I roll 3d33 to get 3 mountain-specific materials
I roll 1d100 for a special wolf item chance, and get 30, successful. I get a wolf claw
I wait for admins to verify my rolls, and my 14 materials and 1 item written into my bank
