Gunfighter Pistol (3) Vehicle Defense
GUNFIGHTER (3) IS AN ADVANCED TACTICAL PISTOL SHOOTING COURSE, which includes vehicle defense strategy and theory, seated shooting from inside a vehicle, controlling unarmed passengers, and shooting from vehicle cover.
This is NOT a basic shooting course. This course does not satisfy NMCCW or TXLTC permit certification requirements. We strongly encourage you to attend the NRA Defensive Pistol Shooting Course before attending GUNFIGHTER training.
Gunfighter (3) is a TWO (2) DAY course. It is conducted entirely outdoors, on the range.
COMPETENCY
You must know how to safely present the gun from the holster, operate, and accurately shoot your gun in order to attend. A valid concealed handgun permit issued by any state or proof of prior handgun training is verified upon enrollment.
This advanced defensive pistol shooting course is recommended for anyone who uses a handgun for personal protection (inside or outside their home).
PURPOSE
Gunfighter (3) develops the skills and techniques used in vehicle defense, deploying the handgun and shooting accurately while seated inside a vehicle, controlling unarmed passengers, shooting from vehicle cover and fighting to a position of safety.
WHAT YOU DO
Students learn and immediately apply advanced tactical shooting skills to develop the mindset and the handgun proficiency required to win a gunfight, such as the universal rules for gun safety; Deploying a handgun from a concealed holster while seated in a vehicle; Shooting through vehicle glass; Controlling unarmed passengers; Shooting from behind vehicle cover; accurately shooting while moving “off the X”; Fighting from the door “V” to escape the kill zone.
REQUIRED GEAR
A handgun, a holster, three magazines, and 250 rounds of FACTORY ammunition are required - provided by each student. You must also bring a face covering bandana or neck tube to prevent glass from entering your nose, ears, and mouth. Your eye protection MUST wrap-around the orbital sockets of your skull. Otherwise, you wear safety goggles over your eye wear. You must also wear a long sleeved shirt that closes at the neck, such as a crew neck, mock neck, or turtle neck shirt, or a shirt that buttons or zips to the top.
NO reloaded or hand-loaded ammunition is permitted in this course. There are ZERO exceptions granted regarding factory ammunition.
BLOOD | SWEAT | TEARS
This course requires moving, kneeling, squatting and assuming awkward shooting positions. Students should bring knee pads and gloves. Instruction is conducted entirely outdoors on the range, including inclement weather conditions. Prepare accordingly.
Accommodations for Adaptive Shooting are provided, as needed.
COST
Cost for TWO DAYS is $350 per person (includes 16-hours of training, student materials, targets and range fees).
IMPORTANT NOTES
Reloaded or hand-loaded ammunition is not permitted in this course. You will not shoot if you bring inappropriate ammunition to class.
Please do not bring any pistol that has not had at least 200 rounds of use. Please also clean and inspect your gun before class.
GUN & GEAR FAILS
In no case will failure of your firearms or gear result in either a full or partial refund.
If your optic fails or falls off of your gun, or if your gun fails and you are unable to immediately correct the problem, the gun will be immediately removed from the range, and you will be dismissed from the course without a refund.
You are required to use a holster that provides retention to the pistol when you are moving, including when you are moving around on the ground. The holster must conform to the shape of the gun, and it must remain open and accessible to the gun when holstering.
If your holster will provide an unsafe condition on the range, you will not use it. See above regarding pistol failures.
PREPARE YOUR KIT
I will require you to submit photos of your gear before class, and we will have time to remedy any gear issues - specifically the holster. All of your "kit" must be functional and operational - in order to maintain a safe condition on the range. We do not compromise on safety. There will be zero discussions about what we determine to be safe or unsafe. Plan ahead. Ask questions about what gear you need - especially if you are buying these items for our training.
NO reloaded or hand-loaded ammunition is permitted.
YOUR PISTOL SIGHTS AND/OR OPTIC MUST BE ZEROED BEFORE YOU ATTEND CLASS
