Team meetings are held in the evenings and on weekends to allow for the participation of the team’s mentors, many of whom have regular 9-5 jobs. We meet in room S1 at Menlo Atherton High School (Mr. Leeper’s Engineering classroom/workshop).
During most of the school year, the team meets 1pm-5pm on Saturdays, and 6pm-9pm on Wednesdays. During the FIRST competition season, the team meets 4 times a week: Mon, Wed, Fri 6-9 pm and Sat 10 am to 5 pm. See the Student Expectations section for expected level of attendance.
On weekday meetings, team parents provide dinner from 5:30-6:00. Food will not be available after 6:00pm. These meals are intended to sustain students who are unable to go home to eat between the end of school and the start of the meeting because of transportation issues or other obligations. During build season, lunch will be provided at 1pm on Saturdays.
In addition to the team meetings, the team’s Steering Committee meets for about one hour every week to address longer term planning and make executive decisions.
