PLANNING PROCESS AND TOOLS

All ADSY PEP districts/schools will complete a Strategic Plan for their summer program and will refine that plan in following years using the Reflection and Revision Tool.  All tools are based on the ADSY PEP Summer Learning Framework which is aligned to the evidence base on summer learning. The framework includes nine planning categories related to Design and Implementation, Academics and Enrichment, and Operations. The Reflection and Revision tool helps leaders refine their planning process, program design and implementation plans. Each part of the plan includes a self-assessment table to help leaders reflect on and rate their program planning process, design and/or delivery related to key indicators of quality and sustainability.

Reflection & Revision Tool

Reflection and Revision Tool: Every section of the Reflection and Revision Tool has:

The Reflection and Revision Tool includes interactive tools to support reflection on program design and implementation and action planning for ongoing program development. The tool enables program leaders to refine key aspects of the program including: capacity, program vision, goals, and data collection plans; student recruitment goals and retention strategies; staffing structure, hiring timeline, job descriptions, and professional development plans; academic and enrichment selection plans; schedule and budget.

LEARNING COMMUNITY

The role of the learning community is to support ADSY PEP project managers, and their teams, to lead strategic planning and ongoing program reflection and revision by:

Learning Community workshops are rooted in, and driven by, the ADSY PEP planning tools that are grounded in evidence-based research and practices. Over the course of the year, Learning Community events will emphasize key areas of these tools  to help LEAs advance and evolve their planning.

LEARNING COMMUNITY AGREEMENTS

To create inclusive, supportive, and engaging spaces during our workshop sessions

Let's take this journey one STEP at a time...*

Show up ready to learn, contribute and grow as a community...
and have some fun too! Participate virtually as best as you can. Video is encouraged but not required.

Take space and make space for everyone to be seen and heard.
Welcome diverse identities, experiences and perspectives into the space.

Embrace challenges, discomfort and complexity with appreciative inquiry and a growth mindset.

Practice self and community care.
Come as you are and take good care of yourself and each other. Uphold what’s confidential and ask for consent when sharing others’ information.

*Participate in evolving these norms to reflect the needs of the learning community. Use the form to the right to elevate recommendations/issues/requests for support around these agreements.
