Outline:
PowerPoint presentation reviewing the essentials of ice climbing, showing ice kit/gear, and then we will get to practice outside. We have a foam ice wall and will have tools for you to practice with that have dulled points. But we will also have a top rope set up on the rock wall for you to practice your form.
For the CS 1 Practice night, we’ll be introducing rope ascension with crevasse rescue focus (OR rope ascension tutorial) Do not expect you to have this down by then, but if you have time, I encourage watching the video link above and walking through the steps.
We will also have a gear demo of instructor ice climbing gear.
