Why This Exists

TA-14 Academy was created and released publicly by Greggory Don Butler.

It was independently developed, fully funded, and produced—then given openly—based on a clear recognition:

That HVAC work lacked a consistent, enforceable structure for evidence, sequence, and accountability.

And that without that structure:

• Systems are disturbed before they are understood

• Outcomes are assumed rather than verified

• Responsibility becomes unclear

This was not created as a product.
It was created as a standard.

Given because it could be built—and because it was necessary.

The Core Principle

Before a system is opened, it must first be understood externally.

TA-14 enforces:

Observe → Justify Entry → Document → Act (if required) → Verify

Anything that bypasses this sequence risks:

• Loss of evidence

• Irreversible system impact

The TA-14 Model

All HVACD/R systems exist within a continuous environmental process:

2. Interpretation (Separate and Controlled)

TA-14 Field Standards

TA-14 Academy defines two core instruments:

NIRET — Non-Invasive Refrigerant Entry Threshold

A governed decision gate that prevents unnecessary system intrusion.

• No refrigerant-side access without evidence

• No gauges attached out of habit

• External system behavior must be observed first

Entry without authorization destroys evidence.

HVAC System Performance Record (HPR)

A structured, sequential measurement record documenting full system behavior:

• Airflow performance

• Electrical performance

• Mechanical configuration

• Refrigeration cycle measurements

• Time-sequenced evidence capture

All measurements are recorded in order to preserve continuity and admissibility.
