TA-14 Academy provides free, public HVAC education and publishes open professional standards designed to raise the industry’s baseline for safety, transparency, and professional conduct.

All educational content is permanently free.

Certifications are optional.

They exist for individuals who wish to make their understanding, professional discipline, or documented process visible in a clear, bounded, and defensible way.

TA-14 Academy certifications are intentionally restrained.

They verify understanding, sequence discipline, professional conduct, and documented process verification — not technical skill, system performance, pricing, outcomes, or compliance.

All certifications require prior affirmation of the TA-14 Professional Pledge.

Required Professional Pledge

All individuals must affirm the TA-14 Professional Pledge prior to certification.

The pledge centers on:

The pledge is voluntary and moral.
It is not a contract and is not enforced.

Not every individual will pursue every certification.

Each personal certification may be accompanied by a physical TA-14 Academy arm patch representing personal accountability — not authority.

1. TA-14 Governance & Sequence Comprehension Certification

Verifies understanding of:

• The 14-step professional HVAC sequence

Does NOT verify:

• Technical skill

2. TA-14 Certified Technician

Verifies that an individual technician:

• Understands and commits to the TA-14 professional sequence
• Affirms disciplined field conduct
• Aligns with homeowner-first principles
• Accepts documented process visibility

Does NOT verify:

• Technical proficiency level
• Diagnostic accuracy
• System performance
• Code or manufacturer compliance

Certification applies to the individual only.

3. TA-14 A2L Transition Safety Credential

Status: Available | $249

Verifies understanding of:

• A2L refrigerant classification
• Flammability safety considerations
• Proper tooling and restraint
• Safe field behavior during transition

Does NOT verify:

• Charging accuracy
• Performance outcomes
• Brand procedures
• Regulatory compliance

4. TA-14 Proctored Sequence Adherence Record (Per Job)

Status: Available | $99 per job

This is a job-level record.

It provides documented process verification for a specific service, installation, or startup event.

It verifies:

• The TA-14 professional sequence was followed
• Required evidence artifacts were submitted
• Work occurred within a defined, time-bounded window

It does NOT verify:

• Performance
• Diagnostic correctness
• Code compliance
• Long-term operation

This record documents process — not results.

5. Rebate-Ready Install Proof (Program-Level)

Aligns TA-14 documented process verification with rebate and utility documentation requirements.

TA-14 Certified Technician Registry (Opt-In)

TA-14 Academy maintains an optional public registry of certified individuals.

Technicians may choose to:
