Uniforms are mandatory for all Junior Deputies, Deputies, Senior Deputies, Corporals, Sergeants, Captains, Sheriffs, and higher ranks.
Personnel must wear the appropriate uniform for their rank. Please refer to the Uniforms by Rank section for specific details and requirements.
All uniforms must remain coordinated, neat, and professional in appearance at all times.
If you have any questions regarding uniform standards, please refer to your Chain of Command or contact leadership for clarification.
Sergeant and Above
Sergeant and higher ranks may remove their vest at their discretion. If the vest is removed, it must be replaced with suspenders and a necktie
Captain and Sheriffs
Captains and higher ranks may exercise greater discretion in their uniform style (e.g., may color anything other than a white shirt, pants, or vest). Their attire must include a white shirt, regional color vest, and black pants.
Additional accessories or stylistic choices may be worn within reason, provided they remain within their assigned regional color scheme and maintain a professional appearance at all times
Secretaries
Secretaries are expected to maintain a professional appearance while performing their administrative duties. The following uniform standards apply:
Tan pants
White shirt
Vest of their choice or suspenders
The white shirt must remain professional in appearance and appropriate for official duties.
Senior Secretaries
Senior Secretaries may wear a colored shirt instead of a white shirt. The chosen color must remain professional and appropriate for the position.
Secretaries may choose between wearing a vest or suspenders based on personal preference, provided their overall appearance remains neat, professional, and suitable for the workplace.
All uniform choices should maintain a clean and professional standard consistent with the expectations of administrative staff.
On Sundays, personnel may adopt a more relaxed uniform style. However, all clothing must still maintain a professional and presentable appearance.
While you are free to wear what you like, it must still be appropriate for a law enforcement environment. For example, wearing only a corset is not acceptable and a professional shirt must be worn underneath. Another example would be avoiding outfits that are excessively bright or distracting, such as clothing that makes you resemble a neon highlighter.
Minor variations from the standard uniform are allowed, but attire that is overly revealing, inappropriate, or unprofessional will not be tolerated. It is important that all personnel maintain a strong standard of appearance, especially since newer deputies often look to more experienced members as examples.
Any attire deemed unprofessional or disruptive to the department’s image may result in disciplinary action.
