Assess the Situation:
Avoid reacting impulsively. Don’t take the bait if suspects are provoking you or trying to lure you into a trap.
Identify any immediate threats. Are there weapons drawn, or is it just a heated argument?
Be aware of your surroundings. Look for cover, possible escape routes, and other people who could escalate the situation.
Ask the Right Questions:
Analyze the scene by asking yourself:
“What is going on here?”
“What am I looking at?”
These questions help you stay objective and determine the appropriate course of action.
Positioning and Awareness:
Field Positioning: Always position yourself where you can engage a threat while minimizing your exposure.
Avoid Crossfire: Be mindful of your posse’s positions to prevent accidental injuries during a firefight.
Strengths and Weaknesses: Know your abilities—if you’re not confident in close combat, keep your distance and focus on ranged support.
Communication is Key:
Callouts: Communicate clearly with your team about threats, positions, and plans. For example, “Suspect moving to the left!” or “Watch the rooftop!”
Share critical updates, such as whether the suspect has dynamite or if marksmen are providing overwatch.
Reacting to Threats:
Explosives (e.g., Dynamite): Create distance immediately and warn your team.
Marksmen: Take cover and communicate their position so your posse can deal with them effectively.

Simple Argument or Conversation:
Keep your weapon holstered unless the situation escalates.
Position yourself in a way that allows you to act quickly if needed but doesn’t come off as overly threatening.
Armed Suspects:
Stay calm and keep your weapon ready.
Issue clear commands, such as “Drop your weapon!” or “Hands where I can see them!”
Wait for backup if you’re outnumbered.
Hostile Ambushes:
Take cover immediately.
Focus on neutralizing immediate threats before re-engaging suspects.

Bring weapons with sufficient ammunition.
Ensure weapons are equipped before engaging (it is quicker to aim and shoot than to equip a weapon during a confrontation).
