The freepass card/item is a unique mechanic that grants temporary immunity to suspects, allowing them to be released regardless of the crime(s) committed. To ensure smooth handling of these situations, follow the steps outlined below.
Immediate Invocation:
The suspect must choose to use their freepass at the time of arrest or detainment.
Once invoked, the decision is final and cannot be retracted.
Possession Requirement:
The freepass must be physically present in the suspect's inventory/pockets at the time of the arrest.
Freepasses stored elsewhere (e.g., horse saddlebags, houses, wagons, or stashes) are not valid.
Deputies are responsible for verifying the presence of the freepass in the suspect’s inventory.
Confiscation:
Once the freepass is confirmed, the officer must confiscate it from the suspect’s inventory. Deposit the freepass into the evidence locker.
This ensures the freepass cannot be reused in the future.
Release the Suspect:
Regardless of the severity of the crime(s) committed, the suspect must be immediately released upon invocation of the freepass.
Ensure the suspect is safely let go without detainment or further consequences.
Document the Encounter:
Record the following details in the Registry accordingly (i.e., on their profile).
The freepass is a one-time-use item. Once confiscated, it cannot be returned or used again.
Deputies should approach the situation professionally and use it as an opportunity to enrich the department’s roleplay experience.
Freepasses cannot be used for a bounty or bounties.
