Drill Sergeants are a specialized version of the standard Sergeant rank, possessing equal authority but with a primary focus on regional training and development within the department. Unlike regular Sergeants who are assigned to specific squads, Drill Sergeants prioritize ensuring all Deputies, particularly Junior Deputies, receive essential training and support necessary for their progression. They collaborate closely with Instructors and Middle Command to organize frequent and high-impact regional trainings that adhere to departmental standards.
The Drill Sergeant will be responsible for planning and hosting Regional Trainings. Candidates for this rank must demonstrate experience or a strong interest in teaching, organization, and discipline. As the primary planner of these trainings, they must design sessions that are impactful in delivering knowledge and experience to Junior Deputies. While handbook manuals may be used as a foundation, Drill Sergeants are encouraged to be creative in their approach, so long as they cover the essential content. These Regional Trainings, whether delivered as introductory classes for Junior Deputies or more advanced workshops for the entire Region, are expected to be held regularly. In addition to training duties, the Drill Sergeant will also be responsible for conducting interviews with individuals seeking to join the department. To support this, they will be granted access to the Law Apps channel of the newsletter. Once the department includes Captains or higher, those ranks will also have the authority to perform interviews.

Their primary focus is on gaining a solid understanding of patrol duties, responding to calls, and upholding the department's core values. After being accepted into the department, Junior Deputies submit their top three region preferences, and are assigned to a region where they receive training and oversight from that region’s command staff.
