Impact of Online Blended Learning in Academic Coaching
An Action Research Plan
Sonia Rodriguez | March 8, 2026
Supporting teachers in delivering effective math instruction is essential to improving student learning. Traditional one-on-one coaching models can provide valuable support, but they often limit personalization and scalability when coaches work with multiple teachers who have diverse needs. To address this challenge, this action research project explores how integrating an online blended coaching model can enhance teacher support and ultimately improve student outcomes in elementary mathematics.
Over the next several weeks, I will examine how combining digital tools, virtual collaboration, and in-person coaching can help teachers reflect on their instructional practices, access resources at their own pace, and receive targeted feedback. Through surveys, learning walks, and student performance data, this study will investigate how blended coaching influences teacher confidence, instructional practices, and student engagement in mathematics. The goal is to better understand how innovative coaching strategies can strengthen math instruction and support meaningful learning for all students.
An action research outline provides a blueprint to begin a literature review to answer a question with the purpose of improving instruction.
This literature review explores how integrating online blended learning into academic coaching may enhance teacher effectiveness and improve students’ academic performance in elementary mathematics.
