Normally the Finnish Language School (FLSA) has 4-5 face-to-face classes. This year we have some online classes, but this site focusses only on the class for advanced beginners.
Advanced beginners are taught by me, Lea. I have taught at FLSA since 1983. I have a Ph.D. in Developmental Psychology which prepared me for a full-time and long inter-agency career in government language teaching.
The online course uses Zoom video conference. It includes texts, conversation, and assignments to teach basic vocabulary and grammar to advanced beginners. We focus on puhekieli as it is used in most interactions in Finland. Our cultural focus includes plenty of humor and risk taking. You must not fear making mistakes, nor be offended by my humorous comments. The class meets on Saturdays 10-12 and the calendar, additional content and support can be found at this website at https://sites.google.com/view/suomea-lauantaisin/about.
