Sixth- to tenth-grade students must remain on campus throughout the day until 15:10. If you need to leave campus for any reason, it must be with the permission of Mr Sinclair or Ms. Masterson.
Eleventh and twelfth-grade students may leave campus during the day if in possession of an “Off-Campus Pass”
Off-Campus Privileges
You are allowed off campus during the school day when you do not have classes. You must however have an Off Campus Pass which is issued by Mr Sinclair. Your photograph will be taken in the first couple of weeks and you will be given a letter to get signed by your parents stating that you have their permission to be off campus during the school day. For grade 12 students this happens in September and you may use your grade 11 pass until the new passes are issued.
Grade 11 students will not be given a pass until it is clearly evident they have developed the maturity and self-discipline to use this privilege wisely. Thus during the first semesters progress and behaviour will be monitored. Once it is clearly evident that noncontact lessons and study time are being utilized with maturity the student will be invited to apply for off-campus privileges.
The Off-Campus Pass - a privilege NOT a right
It is important to understand that the Off-Campus Pass is a privilege NOT a right, and it is expected that the students will treat it responsibly. Any failure to do this will result in temporary or permanent withdrawal of their pass. Lost or misplaced passes will be replaced but a cost will be incurred (5€).
Grade 11 students must always be in school in time for Homeroom at 8:32. Lateness will be seen as a strong argument NOT to issue off campus privileges!
Grade 12 students are allowed to miss homeroom on the days they do not have a scheduled class in lesson one (EXCEPT EXTENDED HOMEROOM ON WEDNESDAY). However, if you arrive at school before 08:32 any day but do not have a first-period class, you must still attend Homeroom.
Homeroom is an important part of everyone’s day and should be used as a time to keep informed and keep in contact with your homeroom teachers. It is an ideal opportunity to get organized for the day and ensure you are aware of what each day has in store. Passes can be withdrawn if your GPA is too low, if your punctuality and attendance are cause for concern or if poor self-discipline or immaturity is evident.
