Todd A. Kempf

Todd A. Kempf, 39, of Rock Island, IL, died Friday, April 20, 2012 at his home.

Services will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday, April 25, 2012 at St. James Lutheran Church, 3145 31st Ave., Rock Island, IL. Private burial will be later. Visitation will be held from 4-7 pm Tuesday at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, 3030 7th Ave., Rock Island, IL. Memorials may be made to St. James Lutheran Church or the Illowa Council Boy Scouts of America.

Todd was born on Sept. 4, 1972 in Moline, a son of William and Joelyn Cardwell Kempf. He graduated from Rockridge High School in 1990 and received his Bachelor of Science degree from Augustana College in 1995 with a major in physics. Todd was employed by Quad-Cities Online.

He was a member of St. James Lutheran Church, Rock Island and was a leader of Boy Scout Troop 7 of Davenport. Todd had been active in scouting for many years and was an Eagle Scout, member of the Order of the Arrow and received the Silver Beaver award. He was an outdoor enthusiast and enjoyed snow and water skiing, boating, camping and fishing. Todd especially loved his family and spending time with them.

Survivors include his parents; Bill and Jo Kempf, Milan; brother and sister-in-law, Travis and Angela Kempf, Morton, IL; nephew, Tyler Kempf and niece, Leigha Kempf, both of Morton; and numerous, aunts, uncles and cousins.
