Ronda L. Staubach

Ronda L. Staubach, 87, Bettendorf, formerly of Rock Island, passed away Saturday Sept. 21, 2013, at Genesis Medical Center, Davenport.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at St. James Lutheran Church, Rock Island, with visitation one hour prior. Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, Rock Island is assisting the family. Memorials may be left to St. James Lutheran Church, Rock Island, or Niabi Zoo, Coal Valley. Burial will be in Rock Island Memorial Park.

Ronda was born Sept. 30, 1925, in Quincy, IL, daughter of Ralph L. and Anna (Schachtsiek) Riceman. She married Arthur L. Staubach III on May 16, 1947, in Rock Island. He preceded her in death on Jan. 12, 2010.

Rhonda was a member of St. James Lutheran Church, Rock Island, and Rock Island AARP. She worked at McCabe's Department Store in Rock Island, and was a member of the Putnam Museum Guild, Davenport. She also had membership in the Scottish American Society of the Quad-Cities.

She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchilden and great-grandchildren. Ronda enjoyed crafts, crocheting, playing cards, puzzles, traveling, her cats and visiting with friends.

Survivors include children, Terry (Bonnie) Skaggs Sr., East Moline, and Gale (John) Hoff, Bettendorf; son-in-law, John Deisenroth, Rock Island; grandchildren, Terry Skaggs Jr., Tracy (Kristen) Skaggs, Jacqueline Smith, Matthew (Carey) Hoff, Andrew Hoff, Michael (Monica) Hoff and Rachel Deisenroth; great-grandchildren, Ethan and Kaylee Hoff, Ian and Ainsley Hoff; siblings, Carol (Floyd) Mitton, Moline; Robert (Marlene) Riceman, Texas; Kenton (Bonnie) Riceman, Florida; Gale (Judy) Riceman, Florida; Sally (Larry) True, East Moline, and James (Sharon) Riceman, Denver, Colo., and sister-in-law, Jan Riceman, Sherrard, Ill. She was preceded in death by parents; granddaughter, Julie Anne Johnson, in 1992; daughter, Judy Deisenroth, in 2004; and sibling, Noel Riceman, in 2007.
