Eudella A. "Dell" Bolt

Eudella A. “Dell” Bolt, 94, of Rock Island, died on Sunday, January 27, 2013 at Silver Cross Nursing Center, Rock Island.

Services will be held at 10:30 am on Friday, February 1, at St. James Lutheran Church, 3145 31st Ave, Rock Island, with the Rev. Janet Lepp officiating. Visitation will be 9:30 am until service time Friday at the church. Private entombment will be at the Memorial Park Mausoleum, Rock Island. Memorials may be made to St. James Lutheran Church.

The former Eudella Alene Cook was born on January 13, 1919, in Peoria, Illinois, the daughter of Raymond and Bessie Gandolfo Cook.

She graduated from Peoria High School and was employed as secretary to the Chief Engineer at Caterpillar Tractor Co. in Peoria for several years. She married Robert H. Bolt on July 14, 1946. He died on April 18, 2003.

She was a long-time member of St. James Lutheran Church and Women of the Evangelical Lutheran Church. She was a former member of the Augustana College Endowment Society, the King’s Daughters, the PTA’s of Eugene Field and Washington Jr. High, and the Rock Island Women’s Club.

Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Craig and Annette Bolt, Glastonbury, CT; grandson, Eric Bolt, Glastonbury, CT; nephew Larry Cook (Barbara), Peoria, and niece Crystal Gorman (Jerry), Peoria. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; her brother, Charles R Cook, and her parents.
