Ground Combat 101
In this section we'll go over some aspects of the ground combat portion of the game. Ground combat is the same as ship combat in many ways, but is not as deep and developed at the space based counterpart. Direction of your attacks, the DPS and other gear still play a large role in the success of the missions and defeating your opponents. Having the right skills and gear will help you to get through these missions.
First let's take a look at the different weapons and gear in the game, and which fits the type of playstyle and Captain you have.
There are several different types of weapons in the game. Mainly there are 2 categories: Ranged and Melee. Withing those two categories there are many other types that have differing stats and damage types. Melee weapons don't have as much variation as the ranged weapons, but they have their place and for those that enjoy Close Quarters Battle, you will find a weapon to enjoy. Clearly the game, being in the future and being Star Trek, is more predicated on ranged combat and so has a deeper system associated with it.
