Visit Q at Earth Space Dock (right on the logo outside the exchange) or in First City just outside the main hall (he's watching the matches in the arena) and you can talk to him to visit the Winter Wonderland. You can also question his power and get turned into something.... Make you apologize for your impertinence. Or don't and roam for a while in your new form. ;)

Once you are at the Winter Wonderland, you will be able to compete and take part in many activities. There are 6 main ones that should advance your participation in the event. There are also extra activities that you can do to earn extra items to be able to buy the exclusive goods from the event vendor. Note that you can get daily event progress from many, but not all the events listed. Note: Progress in the event bar can only be done 1 time per day, though you are free to keep playing the events to get the currency needed to buy gear and items from the vendors.

Activities

Cones of Conduct

The goal of this activity is to help to protect the Gingerbread Village from the Snow Overlord and his snowman minions. You will need a group of 3-5 or more to be able to complete this activity. During the time this activity is open, at first you will be tasked with melting the candy blocks scattered around the map and scraping ice off the houses (or collecting them from the defeated snowmen) and depositing them in the two hoppers on either side of the central house. Collecting the melted candy (syrup) and the ice will help to create the Snow-conian, who is the protector of the village. Thus segment is about 2-3 minutes long as you prepare the defenses. To complicate this however, you need to contend with the constantly spawning snowmen who will interrupt you trying to melt the candy and scrape the ice. Best way to handle this is to use your weapons (you will need Wonderland specific weapons to do this or snowballs) to take out the snowmen before trying to melt or scape the ice. Alternatively you could have a buddy run with you place to place with them to destroy the snowmen while you collect the resources.

The 2nd stage triggers when the Snow Overlord arrives. At this point the snowmen spawning slows and they gather around him. Shortly after that the Snow-conian activates and the two do battle. In order to keep the Snow-conian on his feet you will need to keep collecting the melted candy and ice shavings to provide him the syrup he needs to regenerate his health. This should be the primary focus of the players in the event. The Snow-conian needs to stay in the fight. You can, if you have a LOT of players, attack the Snow Overlord's minions, but for smaller groups the Snow-conian needs to primary damage dealer. Clear out the roaming snowmen goons to make a safe zone to allow for syrup collection. Additionally kill the snowmen that stand between the Snow Overlord and the Snow-Conian to allow the Snow-Conian to deal damage. The Snow Overlord travels through the village freezing houses so time is a factor. Keep the Snow-conian up and fighting and you will succeed and bringing the Snow Overlord down and collecting your rewards.

Klingon Ice Fishing

This activity requires you to get some special gear. First, head to the lake (you should see it from the Gazebo when you arrive). Next look for the fishing master near/under the giant Swedish fish hanging between the rock pillars. He will explain the event and also advise you to get the fishing gauntlet to be able to do the fishing. Go to the boxes next to him to claim a free fishing gauntlet.

Next he will ask you to use it to smash a light blue circle on the ice with the gauntlet attacks. This will play an animation that shows you smashing the ice with the gauntlet and reaching into the water to get a Swedish fish. You will randomly get a Swedish fish from tiny to monstrous which you will be directed to take to the central offering bowl. Press the F key or click to deposit the Swedish fish into the bowl. The Huge and Monstous fish have some cheeky additional fun. A Huge fish will try to eat your arm! To defeat the fish, you will see that your gauntlet attack buttons (default try 1 and 2 buttons) change to a Punch and Slam actions. Typically it will take 2 punches and 2 slams to break the hold and let you take the fish to the bowl. The Monstrous fish eat you...mostly...but leaves your feet and lower legs free. You can slowly walk to the bowl to deposit the fish as per normal but it is amusing to be nearly eaten by a Swedish fish.

Once the even starts, there will be a horn sound and the light blue circles will appear on the lake to let you start to fish. The circles last about 1 or 2 fishing attempts (timed) and then disappear only to reappear in a different spot. Slip and slide to each and continue to deposit the fish in the bowl. Once the bowl is full (there is a meter in the event log) the giant Gummy Worm will break through the ice and attack! Use your non-gauntlet Wonderland weapons to defeat the worm and to resume fishing. This will occur each time the bowl is filled.

Randomly you will be given a reward for the fish and there is not a 'mission complete' set of rewards, so it is in your interest to keep fishing to collect these rewards. You can buy from the event vendor the enhanced Blue and Purple fishing gauntlets which will improve your chances of getting a better reward, but you only really need the basic gauntlet to participate.

Snowball Fight

This activity has you defending yourself from the snowmen that are posed through out the zone that have decided to ambush the players. The goal is to defeat 100 of the snowmen. You will need the Wonderland weapons to be able to defeat them. Snowballs will also work, but will be a real slog to do so with only that as your weapon. Once you (and the other players) have defeated 100 of the snowmen in the region you will hear a voice from the lake area. This is the leader of the snowmen, the Overlord, and he will now need to be dealt with.

This is a basic beatdown event. Best to shoot him from a distance as he has a bounce attack that will slam you hard and potentially freeze you if your life bar is drained. Once the snow lord is defeated, the activity will end. There is no set reward for this activity but you will be randomly granted loot from defeating the snowmen and the snow lord. There is no daily advancement for Event Activity progress.

Tides of Ice

This is probably the most complicated event and will need the largest group of people. You will need to go to the Tide of Ice zone (look for the region to the southwest of the lake) in order to participate.

Basically this is a lane/tower defense game. There are 4 different lanes to defend. Each lane has 2 bridges and ice walls under the bridges. The SnowBorg appear at the end of each lane as called out by the event narrator. Ideally you will have 2-4 people at each lane to defend from the attack, so you will not need to move around from lane to lane. If you have less people, you will need to assist other lanes to keep them from being overrun.

As the waves come, each bridge has a tower that will blast the SnowBorgs. You will however need to do the majority of the damage with your Wonderland weapons as the tower only fires slowly. Take the SnowBorgs down as each wave is called out. On wave 6, the two outside most lanes will have SnowBorgs appear near the 2nd bridge (the bridge closest to the exit point). You will need to detail 1 or 2 people per side to deal with them as the rest of the players stay in their positions. This will continue to spawn SnowBorgs until the final wave.

At wave 10, the SnowBorg Queen will appear in the center lane near the exit and do battle. Defeating her will end the activity.

Note that during the waves, the towers on each bridge will be attacked by the SnowBorg. After taking so much damage they will be knocked offline and will need to be repaired. You will know which are offline as there will be a yellow set of arrows over the offline towers. Under each bridge is an icewall, and once breached cannot be repaired. This slows the SnowBorg but cannot hold long unless you intervene to defend them.

Lastly, if you have a small group of players in the activity (between 4-6) you will not be able to avoid being overrun as you just can't do enough damage at each lane to hold them off. In this case, do your best to defend the end of the lanes but once they break through, retreat down the lanes to the central court/exit and make your stand there. The overlapping fields of fire you and the other players can put down will limit the number of SnowBorgs that can escape before the end in wave 10.

Each wave will grant you some items that can be used to buy the items from the event vendor and this activity counts towards your event participation progress.

The Kramp'lrhi

The star of the Winter Wonderland (don't tell Q I said that) is the Kramp'lrhi which is a goat legged Klingon-esque nightmare that hates naughty children. Every so often he will be announced as arriving soon. This is your call to action. Visiting his Herald in the Gazebo starting area will give you some insight on what he does, why, and where you can find him. As well a "Teleport to Kramp'lrhi button will appear and allow you to teleport to where he is spawning. This is an activity and so will not happen while another is going on, as he will appear at other activity locations.

The goal for this is....basically, to defeat him. He is not terribly hard to defeat in the sense that he will kill you (only getting frozen for a bit occurs). He will appear at the activity location accompanied by a few Tortured Elves. During the fight he will throw rocks, attack with his Klingon sword and wrap some people with a basket/hat to immobilize you. For the most part you should just stay in one place and shoot/attack as much as possible. Running from him will make no difference. Stand your ground, take your lumps and do the best you can even if all you have is a snowball.

At points in the fight more Tortured Elves will appear but they are mostly inconsequential. As well, Krampy will toss out some gifts. Open one of these to let free a Tortured Elf or a captured gingerbread citizen. Its not worth chasing these too much, but should one land near you, it is worth opening. If you are just using a snowball/basic attack, you can devote your energies to opening these to assist the tracked progress of releasing gingerbread citizens.

Each time you deplete Krampy's hitpoints he will complain about the naughty children and turn into a brown swirling storm and rage off to another location on the map. Follow him to his new location and do it all over again. During the timed event, with an average group you will likely bring him down 2-3 times. In larger groups 4-5 is normal and extraordinary groups can perhaps bring him down 6 times. Each time you beat him he is harder to beat but the strategy is still the same.

At the conclusion of the event, you will be given your rewards and progress in the Event progress bar.

Competitive Races

To the North of the Gazebo is a starting area for the Competitive Racing. This activity pits players against reach other along a frozen river. Sign in to the race once the race is announced and wait for the countdown to start going. Once it hits 0, the gate drops and you are off!

The ice is slippery and as such the more speed you have the harder it will be to execute turns or change your direction. Keep this in mind as you race because going off the track, even a little, will result in you being disqualified. Jumping and rolling (dodging) and turning in spot to run the other way are all strategies you can use to make turns, go over obstacles and to get the best time on the track.

At the end of the race you will need to contend with one final thing, the finish flag. In order to finish first you need to tag the flag with the F key or click the button for the race finish on your screen. If you are the first one there, and you miss the flag, you might not finish first, so make sure in that final stretch you have the flag lined up and ready to click or claim it.

The rewards will go to the top 3 finishers who click their flags at the finish line. Each one will get rewards of Epohh tags for the special Winter Eppohs you can get. These races also count towards the event progress bar if you finish in the top 3.

Additional Activity: Pie Eating

Located in the Gingerbread village, you can find a Breen that will offer a mission/activity to eat pies. Accepting this will have you go to a nearby circular table to select pies to eat. Some of the pies, usually the larger ones, will take longer to eat and the smaller ones, a shorter time to eat. You will want to try and pick the smaller ones as this event is timed and the goal is to eat as many pies as you can. Usually you can get in 9-12 pies with each run. It is best to do this when no other players are trying at the same time to avoid a bad score as you will be competing with them to click the pies and there is no competitive reward for finishing first or eating more than the other person.

Once the timer is up, return to the Breen to collect your reward and to see how many pies you ate. You can do this activity every 15 minutes and while it doesn't give progress in the event bar, it does award a decent selection of items to use to buy event specific gear and weapons.

Additional Activity: Recipes

Neelix (from Voyager) is here to help you with your culinary ambitions. In the Task Force for the event, you can find recipes for various Winter themed foods. The ingredients for that food can be found around the greater Winter Wonderland area. This activity does not count towards the overall event progress bar, but can be fun to do for those that like to collect recipes and craft. Neelix is located in the Gingerbread Village in the courtyard near to the pie eating contest.

Duty Officer Missions

If you are over level 15 and have access to the Duty Officer system, you can click on the Current Map option to get a series of themed duty officer missions. These missions are like any other in that you need the right people to carry them out and they will return the listed rewards. Most are a 4 hour timer that can be repeated. These missions do not count towards the progress bar for the event.

Task Force

This event only Task Force is fairly basic. The objective of the mission is to work your way towards the end are boss and take out the mobs along the way. There are secondary objectives and collectibles along the way to gather, so keep your eyes open for those. Additionally there is a secondary mini boss hidden in the level. Chances are good, you will be doing the mission with veteran players so they will lead the way and reveal the maps secrets to you as you advance. Pay attention to where they go and you'll soon master the Task Force.

This event runs in mid to late October in honor of the spooky season of Halloween. The fun takes place mostly at a location called Castle Pyris and is from the classic Trek episode "Cat's Paw." There are 2 main sections to the Ground Task Force and each will be unlocked as you progress through the objectives. In addition to the main objectives there are secondary objectives to earn bonus marks during 2 of the 3 areas.

Castle Pyris Part 1: Skeletons

In the first stage of the TFO you head to the left and encounter your 1st cat near the sparkling door. Open it and prepare to fight skeletons and light candles. There are bonus marks for each candle lit (up to 34) and these have an effect on the fight with the skeletons. The Dark Skeletons can only be injured/killed when they are exposed to the light of the candles. So make sure to light them, and stay in their radius (the light on the floor) to be able to kill the skeletons. Note that if you are in the light but the skeleton is not, then your attacks will not be harmed. You may have to shift location or work with the other players to pull the skeleton to the right spot. There are several corridors and rooms to go through with candles and skeletons so fight your way through.

In the first room there are a series of 4 "cells" on each side of the room. There is a cat in the North East cell along with a candle and quite a few candles spread across the room. Get into the habit of lighting each one and keeping them lit during the battle as some do go out after a certain amount of time.

In the 2nd room there is an alcove where the skeletons spawn through. Inside the alcove is another candle and a cat. Again the same rules apply here: light the candles and shoot the skeletons after they have been in the light. Once you have killed all the skeletons you can progress to the final room.

In the final room, you will be fighting a large skeleton lord. This fight has no real special mechanic to it, other than to pull the skeleton lord and the accompanying adds to the lit candles and beat them down. The candles in this room DO go out over time, so you'll need to re-light them as the battle progresses to make sure you have enough locations in light to be able to kill the enemies. Once this is done, you can get the item the Skeleton Lord drops and free the first Old One. Only 1 of the party needs to collect the item to proceed. Speaking to the Old One will teleport you back to the central start area. Place the item on the altar, and a cat will spawn near it and open the 2nd section.

Castle Pyris Part 2: Witches

In the second area, you head through the right side (east) door and a cat will appear near the door. Ahead you should see purple cat eyes in the darkness. Head towards them and find another cat. Three cats in rapid succession. Next head towards the north down the hallway to the Witches Library. Fight the witches for a bit and you will be interrupted by a conversation box. Clicking or the reply, or waiting enough time and you will be teleported to 1 of 3 rooms in a sub map of the castle (see Castle Pyris: Witch Encounter map). Each room has its own mechanic to escape it and continue with the TFO.

Spider Room: This room has you run through a hallway to a central room with a dining table. Click/interact with the skeleton on the table to begin the spider defense. You'll be attacked by waves of spiders ending with a spider boss (Shar'let). Killing Shar'let and collecting the key from the table will allow you to open the door to escape. There are no real special mechanics to this fight other than to kill the spiders as quickly as possible to avoid being overrun. Be sure to explore the room across from the doorway and spawn the cat before you leave the room.
Witches Cauldron: In this room you will be asked to find ingredients and put them into the cauldron as the voices direct. You will encounter mobs of angry witches that you will need to defeat first, and after you complete each task. Note that each task is on a timer, so be sure to move quickly and if you are with another person try to work together to complete the task and not work against each other. Once you have completed all the tasks the door will open and you'll be allowed to proceed. Note that there is a cat around the corner in this area so be sure to find it before you leave and go to the final witch encounter.
Ghost Library: This room is similar to the Witches Cauldron in that you are tasked with finding books and placing them on their proper shelves. Again there are mobs to fight first, so clear them out and then proceed with the tasks. After each task is done (or failed), the mobs will return. After the last task is completed the doors will unlock and you will be allowed to proceed to the final encounter. There are no cats to find in this location.

The final encounter: Once the team is all back in place you can proceed through the final door to the witches. Outside the door is a cat, and should automatically be collected/found as you approach the door. Once inside there is a platform in the shape of a C. At each side there is a cat to find so be sure to go to each side before you leave the area! The fight against the witches and hags is fairly straight forward but there is one immunity mechanic to be dealt with. The hags cannot be killed until their immunity is removed. To do this you need to target the skull over the cauldron and destroy it. Once its down you will be able to harm them. The skull will periodically respawn and you will be advised by the Old One that the immunity is up or down so pay attention to the voiced clues to see if your attacks are landing as they should. The witches have no immunity, only the hags. During the battle one of your party (or you) will be transformed into a cat. If this happens to you make sure you stay away from your fellow party members. The purple aura around you/them will stop all players in the aura from being able to attack, so don't hamper them and move away from group members. After the bar in the center of the screen depletes you will transform back to your usual self. Once the hags are defeated you will be able to collect the item off the altar and talk to the Old One and rescue them. Note only 1 person needs to collect the item to proceed. Speak to the Old One and be teleported back to starter/main castle area.

Castle Pyris Part 3: The Devidians

In the last part, after placing the 2nd item on the altar another cat appears. Head through the door and down the split pathways to the antechamber to fight some Devidians. Defeat them and proceed to the main room. In this location there will mobs and the main boss. There is a special mechanic to defeating the boss however. Before you defeat the boss however, head up to the 2nd floor to uncover/find the last cat. It will be in the middle of the 2nd floor walkways.

Getting back to the fight, as the battle progresses the Old Ones will inform you that one of your members will have been phase shifted. That person (if its you) will appear to be a blue translucent color and will need to sabotage the efforts of the Devidians machine. To do this, look to stairways first landing on either side to see if there is a green arrow icon. If there is head to it and interact with it. If you don't see them, look at the base of the stairways (facing the main door helps to see these) and there should be a green arrow there. Interact with one of the four locations to sabotage the device and advance the battle. This will need to be done by party members 3-4 times to finish the fight. The boss is immune to damage periodically until the machine is sabotaged, so this is needing to be done to complete the TFO.

Once the boss is defeated, the TFO ends. If you didn't find all the cats or light the candles, well its too late. You don't get an accolade for the candles or the cats but you do get more marks by finding and/or lighting them.

The Risa Lohlunat Summer Festival

The Risa Lohlunat Summer Festival is much like the Winter festival in that it has many different activities to participate in for an even currency known as Lohlunat Favor. Each activity has a certain amount of Favor rewarded for its completion with some also offering bonus Favor during certain times and random circumstances. In addition to the activities there are clothes and other items for sale with the currency of Favors used to purchase. Unlike the Winter festival, there is no Task Force Operation or combat involved in the activities and so you can put your weapons away and enjoy the sun and fun.
