Rosa

Born September 17, 1896 in Gubsenmoos.

Rosa, known as Rose, never married.  At age 13 she was listed as a resident of Arden Precinct near Addy, Washington on the 1910 census.  She worked as a clerk in the office of the Northern Pacific Railroad in Spokane and lived in a home in Spokane built for her by her brother Carl.

Rosa died in Spokane in January 25, 1935 and is buried with her mother, Mary, in Forest Cemetery in Coeur D' Alene, Idaho.

A document held by Pauline Hagan Staeheli notes that Rose married Claude Whisman and after their divorce she took the name Staley.  Also noted is that Rose lived with Mother Staeheli in Coeur d’Alene and went back and forth on the electric interurban railroad to her job in Spokane at the Pacific Music Company.
