Carl Anton
Born July 22, 1892 in Guebsenmoos.
Known as Charles or Jack he died January 14, 1971 on his farm near Anacortes, Washington. He was cremated and his remains were scattered on the farm.
From his obituary:
Charles A. Staly, 78, retired captain with the Spokane Fire Department, moved to the Washington coast following his retirement June 25, 1942. He had been with the department 28 years, having joined June 1, 1914. He lived in Wisconsin until shortly after 1900 when he moved to Colville (Addy) and then Spokane. A World War I veteran, he played with the United States Navy Band. He also played cornet with the Spokane Fire Department Band.
Charles married Madeline Capaul (born 1895, died 1982) from Coeur D' Alene, Idaho in 1920. The Capaul's had emigrated from Brigels, Switzerland.
They had one son, Thomas Charles Staeheli (born February 14, 1921). When their son, Tom, was about 7 years old Charles legally had our family name changed to Staly at the courthouse in Spokane. Charles built three homes in Spokane and lived in two of them. He built a house for his sister, Rose, and she lived there. Eventually, Charles and Madeline divorced.
Charles married Lola Potter (born 1907, died February 5, 2001) on September 20, 1930 and they had a daughter, Carol Ann (born 1932, died 1980). Lola and Carol are buried at Pines Cemetery in Spokane Valley, Washington.
Tom Staly married Helen Turk (born February 19, 1920, died January 20, 2002) from Spokane, Washington. Tom worked as a food broker for Johnson-Lieber Co. in Spokane until his retirement in 1983. Helen maintained their home as a housewife. They had three children. Tom Staly Jr. (born December 24, 1944), Jeanne Marie (born August 29, 1948) and Elizabeth Ann (born March 22, 1952).
Carol married Bernard F. Barnett in 1949 and had two children. Karen Barnett (born ) and Charles "Chuck" Barnett ( born ).

Children of Tom and Helen:
Tom Jr. married Marilyn McKee in 1969 and they had two children. Susan Marilyn (born September 4, 1975) and John Michael (born January 1, 1978)
Tom Jr. and Marilyn divorced in 1996. Tom Jr. married Kathy Hendrickson and helped to raise her children, Rachael and Christopher.
Children: Susan married Adam Peistrup (born July 8, 1975) on September 15, 2000 and they have two children. Ella Marilyn (born January 6, 2006) and Jay Thomas (born March 7, 2009).
John married Elizabeth Dauenhauer on April 18, 2009. They have two children. Life Patrick (born August 20, 2010) and Lincoln (October 22, 2012).
Jeanne married Dewayne Tuttle and had a son, Jesse (born ). After Jeanne and Tuttle divorced she married Lee Mason.
and adopted sons Joel (born ) and Jeremy (born ,died ). They had a daughter, Christina (born ).

Elizabeth "Beth" married Bill Olney and had three children. Saul (born July 14, 1971, died May 28, 1980), Isaiah (born January 5, 1974) and
Jabriel (born October 16, 1975). Beth had a daughter, Jessica (July 19, 1983) with Rodney March Wieser, and another son, Jacob (April 10,1987) with James Yoho.
Children: Jabriel has a son, Denver (born June 26, 2005).
Children of Carol Ann:
Karen is single and has no children.
Chuck married Mary Lou and they have two sons.
Madeline, after her divorce from Charles, married Robert Gage (born 1907, died 1978) and they had two daughters. Roberta "Bobbie" (born ) and Jeanne (born ). Madeline and Robert are buried in Riverview Cemetery in Coeur D' Alene, Idaho.
Roberta married and had two children. David (born ) and Susan (born ). They live in Coeur D' Alene, Idaho.
Jeanne married Barney Baarnal and they had three children. Linda, Ricky and Randy. Jeanne and Barney lived in Cokato, Minnesota, where Jeanne still lives.
