Louis Peter Salesius

Born Peter Alois (Salesius) Staeheli in Marshfield, Wisconsin October 26, 1899.  Records show Peter's middle name as either Alois or Salesius.

At age 10 was listed as a resident of Arden Precinct near Addy, Washington on the April 23, 1910 census.

Louis, known as Louie, lived in Coeur D' Alene, Idaho and worked at the lumber mill piling green lumber.  He and brother, Cap, worked together at the mill.

Louis liked spending time at the beer tavern in Coeur D' Alene after work while Cap did not.

Louis (died August 13, 1968) married Verna A. O'Toole (born 1908, died 1998).  They are buried together in Riverview Cemetery in Coeur D' Alene.

Louis and Verna had a son named Ron.  Ron lived in the San Francisco Bay area teaching music in elementary schools in the Oakland Public School District.  He is deceased.  Ron had two children, a son, Kier, and a daughter, Tienne (born April 4, 1963).  Tienne has returned to Switzerland and established Swiss citizenship.  She married a Cornishman and they and their children live in the village of Grafenort near Luzern.

Tienne notes that her father, Ron, was engaged in challenging work with ghetto children, most of them minority.  His eardrum was knocked out by a flying baseball and he never knew if that was some kid hitting him on purpose or just an accident.  Ron was not particularly fond of his work and retired early.  He studied for a PHD at the University of California Berkely Campus but discontinued his PHd work during his dissertation when Tienne was very young.  Tienne remembers spending a lot of time on the UC Berkely Campus outside the Music Library on a wonderful old tree.  In the fall of 2009 Tienne and her daughter, Audrey, returned to the campus looking for the old tree.  She was unable to find it and speculates the tree was either cut down or had grown so much she could not recognize it.

Louis and Verna had a daughter who lived in Coeur d'Alene.  She had two children, a son and a daughter.  The son worked in the medical field at

Madigan Army Hospital near Tacoma.
