Caspar Albert

Born April 24, 1879 in Gubsen.  Emigrated to the United States on March 4, 1898 and moved to Dodgeville, Wisconsin where he worked on a farm.  Albert encouraged his family to move from Switzerland to the U.S.  Around 1900 he rode a bicycle from Wisconsin to Washington State.  He fell ill from bad water and was hospitalized with Typhoid Fever in Sedro Woolley.  The family was notified that Albert died in the hospital at the age of 22.  Presumably, he was buried near Sedro Woolley.

Handwritten notes on an official family document from Egnach, Switzerland indicate that Albert died October 11, 1901 and is buried in "Stylacoom".

Read more about Albert in his sister, Theresa's, description of life for the Staeheli family while they lived in Wisconsin.
