Artisan of the Crossroads/Largesse Derby
Artisan of the Crossroads/Baronial Largesse Derby
This year the Artisan of the Crossroads Arts & Sciences Contest is in the form of a Baronial Largesse Derby. All are welcome to participate. Bestowed items will be used for both gift baskets and to be gifted to individuals as largesse.
Rules:
Donate 6 handmade entries that are suitable for largesse. For example, 6 hand-sewn pouches, 6 lucet cords, 6 period children’s toys, 6 skeins of handspun yarn, etc. Documentation is optional, and an inspiration reference is encouraged, but it is not required.
If you make a gift of three or more entries, you will be eligible to potentially win an Over The Top Prize.
All entries must be tagged with the donor’s name, home group, Trimaris, instructions (if needed), and any ingredients or possible allergens. The items should be ready to be gifted the day of the competition.
To be in compliance with Camp Challenge rules, we ask for you not to use glass containers.
You do not need to be present to win, and you can send your labeled largesse with a proxy.
Schedule:
Location: The competition and vote will be set up under the big permanent pavilion by the lyste field.
11:00am until noon: Artist set-up and registration
Noon to 4:00pm: Display and populace voting
4:00pm: Competition ends
Winners will be announced at court
Judging and Prizes:
Everyone present, regardless of status, will receive three beads to vote with. Location: The competition and vote will be set up under the big permanent pavilion by the lyste field (the basketball court). We need everyone to view the largesse and vote for their favorites!
The populace beads are worth 1 point, the Landed Nobilities’ beads are worth 2 points, and our King & Queen’s beads are worth 3 points.
The Winner will be determined by the highest number of accumulated points. The prize will consist of 6 different items from all that were submitted. The Winner can pick the items, or I can pick them for the Winner (everyone will indicate their preference on the entry form)
Over The Top Winner will be determined by the highest sum of the awarded points for all of their entries. For example, if for your 1st entry you receive: 5 points for the 2nd entry: 34 points, and for the 3rd entry: 17 points, your total will be 56 points. The entrant with the highest total will win a set of three tea cups with decorations based on the 13th century Kashubian embroidery.
