If you are wondering if this class is right for you, remember it is the second course at the beginning level, which means it is intended for students who have only studied Spanish for approximately four months. Click on the first link to access examples of content studied in Span 102 and the second link to view the content covered in our first three courses in Spanish. My goal is to help you find the course that is the best fit to ensure you get the most out of your time, energy, and money.
The prerequisite for this course is either SPAN 101 with a grade of "C" or better or equivalent (two years of high school Spanish). If you have taken 3+ years of high school Spanish, you may enroll in Span 201.
This course is not open to students with previous credit for or concurrent enrollment in SPAN 100.
If you speak Spanish with family members, the Department of Languages requests you enroll in a higher level class, such as Span 215: Spanish for Spanish Speakers. This course does not address the unique learning needs of heritage Spanish speakers and you will be held to the same standards as the beginning-level students.
