This component of the class consists of the activities and tasks you will do ahead of time to come to class prepared (preparation) and after we have reviewed and practiced in each class session (practice). There will be a variety of tasks in this category to help you learn, practice, and apply the course content. They consist of but are not limited to the following:
Viewing and studying textbook pages, videos, and digital slides
Taking notes and preparing outlines
Completing LingroHub assignments on grammar, vocabulary, culture, and reading comprehension
Playing vocabulary and/or grammar related games
Utilizing additional resources
All of these tasks are located in Canvas and due by the due dates provided. Please note that I encourage you to complete them in the order they are listed.
Additionally, I include detailed instructions and grading rubrics when appropriate to help you understand the expectations and objectives of each task and to see how your work is going to be evaluated.
Due Dates & Times: All of your assignments in Canvas are due by 12:00pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays. This is to help you balance the workload, give you as much flexibility as possible, and at the same time, prepare you for practicing course material in class.
LingroHub: The majority of your homework will be on a website called LingroHub. There is a link in our Canvas course to enter the LingroHub site where you will find all of the activies listed with their due dates.
We are going to work hard to do a thorough job and produce work of which we are proud. Therefore, accent marks, spelling, and punctuation will need to match to receive full credit. Also, LingroHub exercises are graded, the highest score is recorded, and you are allowed 5 attempts depending on format. For most activities, LingroHub provides general feedback on your incorrect answers.
LingroHub Issues: If you have any technical problems with this site, you will need to contact LingroLearning Support directly and they can best assist you. You may access this by entering the site and clicking on "Help".
