Cultural Activities

Cultural Activities (10%)

Culture will be infused throughout all of our learning this semester. In addition, you will complete a handful of cultural activities this semester and they include various Cultural Conversations and a Community Cultural Project. The purpose of these cultural activities is to expose you to the beauty of Latine/Hispanic culture, facilitate the use of your new communication skills, foster critical thinking, and help you create connections with your classmates and the global Latine/Hispanic community. I promise you will enjoy them!

Cultural Conversations

After viewing the Club Cultura videos and completing related online activities, you will conduct brief independent research on a related topic of interest. In addition to a brief write up of what you learned from your research, you will also share this information with your classmates for an in-class cultural conversation.

Community Cultural Project

You will participate in one event in the community that is new to you this semester. Activities could consist of viewing a Spanish-language film at a local theater, reviewing a local Latino/Hispanic restaurant, attending an artistic event, or visiting a place of interest.
