I am currently studying BA(Hons) Filmmaking at University of Plymouth, and started the course in September 2024.
During the first year, we completed 3 set modules: Film School, Screen Dialogues and Storyteller. For each of these, we had to create a short film, do a PDF showing evidence from all of the stages of production, and write a critical evaluation of the whole process. At the end of the first year, I was invited by the Course Leader to help out on an extra project, which involved the 3rd Year BA(Hons) Music Students composing a piece of music, which was then performed by an Orchestra in Bulgaria. I assisted in recording the live performance over Zoom, and then interviewing the music students and lecturers involved in the project.
For the second year, we have 4 modules to complete: Filmmaker, Imperfect Cinema, Cinematic Crafts and Common Challenge: Professional Filmmaker. So far I have completed 2 of these modules and am currently in the process of finalising the last 2.
My Uni projects can be accessed via the drop-down menu, and are separated into each year. However, in order to have our course projects marked, we have to upload them to a YouTube Channel. This gives an extra level of pressure, as we want our work to be of a high standard if it's going to be widely available for the public to view.
