About Me

Hi, I am Sophie Kingston, a 21 year old student from Somerset with an interest in Film Production. I am currently studying BA(Hons) Filmmaking at the University of Plymouth.

I have had experience in all areas of the film-making process, but my main interest is in cinematography.

As well as producing projects for my course, I have also completed several private commissions for local businesses, and have increased my skill set by attending some additional national courses. I have undertaken a wide variety of work experience, mainly with Slade Productions, creating a TV series for YouTube and Kold Open, but also with M and M Film Productions, a local videographer, and helping with various live theatre productions.  My most high-profile job so far has been as a Location Marshal on the film set of an episode of Warner Bros 'Ted Lasso' for Season 4....yet to be aired.

My most recent accolade came from being Focus Puller and 1st Assistant Camera on the short film 'False Premises' by Melissa McCusker, which was nominated for Best Drama (Short Film Category) at the 2025 UK Film Awards. This has given me an IMDb profile as a Cinematographer.
