These are Companions that can carry a Character or Two from one location to another, more specially, they act as transportation for their Owner.
In fact, some locations can only be accessed by using Mounts when one travels around the Sunswept Wastes!
There are two ways one can get a Mount Companion: either from the Desert Bloom Ranch or by Taming a Wild Pokémon.
Note Depictions of Pokémon must be recognizable - regardless of personal art style!
Most people who travel across the Sunswept Wastes choose to do so in groups, caravans, or via the Train (when it's available). Owning a Mount is not uncommon for common folks.
In fact, regular Solarans are allowed to own 1 Mount each.
Why? Well, Mounts are expensive and common Solarans don't need multiple Mounts as they really aren't diving into the heart of the desert on an everyday basis.
Adventurers Guilders, Outlaws, and Bounty Hunters regularly travel deep into the Sunswept Wastes to do their jobs...
Due to the requirements of their profession, only these professions can own up to 3 Mounts.
There are Mounts for Land, Water and Air, so it makes sense to have one of each potentially.
Every available Mount has an established Rider Limit - meaning how many Adults that particular species of Mount Companion can carry (does not include Children NPCs).
Rider Limits are especially important when Characters are are wanting to Tame a Wild Pokémon in more remote areas away from the Town of Solara Veil, since Mount Companions must be present to carry the amount of riders.
For more information on this, see the Taming page.
Yes!
Every Member is allowed to canonically have 2 of their Characters arrive to Solara Veil already owning a Mount.
One Character may be Submitted to the group owning a Dodrio, and another Character may be Submitted to the group owning a Mudsdale.
Why? It makes sense in the Solara Veil Universe that Characters would travel to the Town of Solara Veil by their own means of transportation, so choose wisely which 2 of your possible 5 Characters arrive to town with a Mount Companion!
Note At this time, only 3 Land Mounts are available
Dodrio - Rider Capacity: 1 - Purchase Price (Doduo): 20 Coins - Rental Price: 10 Coins
✦ Dodrio are the most common Mount in the Sunswept Wastes. They are known for their speed and can fly over short distances, such as over a narrow ravine. Unfortunately, Dodrio can only carry 1 adult and few belongings.
Mudsdale - Rider Capacity: 3 - Purchase Price (Mudbray): 30 Coins - Rental Price: 15 Coins
✦ Mudsdale are durable and reliable steeds. While they may not be known for their speed, they can carry several people or a lot of weight without sinking into the sands of the Sunswept Wastes. Due to their strength and loyalty, they can be trained to Mounts, Drafts, or Loyal Companions. A Mudsdale can only be trained to be one type of Companion.
K. Rapidash - Rider Capacity: 2 - Purchase Price (Ponyta): 60 Coins - Rental Price: 20 Coins
✦ Any Kantonian Rapidash found in Solara Veil have all been imported from beyond the Sunswept Wastes, hence why they are so expensive. They are extremely loyal and very fast. It is said that Galarian Rapidash are either critically endangered or extinct.
If a Mount is owned by someone who is in a relationship in which they share the same household (Marriages included), or if the Owner has a child/children, then those immediate family members may be allowed to use and ride the Mount if they have Bonded with the Mount Companion.
In order for a Bonding to take place, a Submission must be made depicting the family member interacting affectionally with the Mount Companion (min. Full Body, Coloured, with some background elements and the Full Body Mount Companion).
Once this Bonding has been approved by the Mod Team, then the family member can ride the Mount!
