Besides Purchasing Pokémon at the Desert Bloom Ranch, a Solaran can also venture out into the wild to catch some Pokémon as well! However, it's not easy Taming a Wild Pokémon anywhere in the Sunswept Wastes. Hence why there are few things to know before one dives into trying to catch a Wild Pokémon as their own.
For starters, know that it can be a dangerous venture off and encounter a Wild Pokémon, so characters can get injured when attempting to Tame any Wild Pokémon! Not to mention how your character may not be successful in their Taming Attempt! All outcomes are rolled randomly.
Note Some locations may not be accessible to your Character unless they have a Mount with them OR they must be accompanied by an Adventure Guilder.
Note Depictions of Pokémon must be recognizable - regardless of personal art style!
Note Only if a fully-evolved Pokémon marked Mount is Tamed then they can be immediately ridden. If a Pokémon is caught at a pre-evolution, and then evolved, these WILL NOT be listed as a Mount. These Pokémon will need to be officially Trained!
Ex) Tamed a Flygon = a Mount
Tamed a Trapinch and then evolved into a Mount = Loyal/Not a Mount (unless Trained)
Before making a Taming Attempt Submission, please ensure your Character must already own Property.
✦ To see how your Character can own their own House, click here!
NEW For areas and locations in the Sunswept Wastes that are further from Solara Veil, Characters MUST Rent OR own a Mount to transport them across the desert region AND they must be travelling with an Adventure Guilder Escort to keep them safe!
✦ The Adventure Guilder Escort can be done via a Cameo depiction or as a Collab with the Guilder's owner.
✦ Tamed Mounts can only be ridden by their Owners or their owner's spouse(s) and/or families BUT there has to be a Bonding Submission first.
The Taming Attempt Submission should depict your Character somehow interacting with the desired Pokémon they are trying to Tame.
This may include: finding/spotting the Pokémon, feeding them food, or even trying to battle them.
Mods encourage creativity!
The Sunswept Wastes is a dangerous place and Injuries can happen!
When they do, Injuries can, and will, affect Submissions! See here to find out how!

The member sends a Taming Attempt via the drop-down menu found in the Submit Mail channel on the Discord server. This will open a pop-up form to fill out.
In the form, the member must provide following:
The link to Taming Submission
The breed(s) and/or name(s) of the Cameos used (Limit of 6)
State if your character is using an Item(s) for this attempt
State the listed Difficulty of the Tameable Pokémon
The breed, sex, and name of the Tamed Pokémon (should the Taming be successful)
Provide a link to your Storage. Make sure the link is clickable!
If you've included a Mount and/or an Adventure Guilder Escort, please list their necessary info as well.
Be mindful of a Mount's Rider Limit! If the number of Cameos/Other Characters exceed the Rider Limit, then an additional Mount must be present (either owned by a Cameo or Rented)
Make sure to mention/include any use of Food and/or Items to hep improve your Taming chances.
Once the form is complete, click the Submit button. This will create a Private Mail channel with the information that you have provided.
Wait for a mod to view your Taming Submissions and roll the success of the Taming - success, fail and/or injury. Once you get that confirmation, congratulations... hopefully!
Your character is now either the new owner of a Tamed Companion (Loyal or Mount) or... they failed and are possibly hurt either way!
Depending on the Wild Pokémon, the odds in their capture (and the possibly injury) can vary from one to another.
Some are rather difficult to Tame, and this difficult factor is dependent on the Pokémon and their stage of evolution. But do not fear!
There are some ways to get increase your odds when trying for a Taming Attempt.
✦ Many Pokémon love receiving food and can get distracted when this is offered. So look at the General Store to perhaps Purchase some Pokémon Food.
✦ Cameos can be other Loyal Companions that your Solaran (or another) has Tamed or other Characters. For Cameos to count, they must to be depicted or described as having a genuine affect/influence of your Taming Attempt in your Submission. (There is a limit of only have 6 Cameos being used - Classic Pokémon Battle Rules)
Oh no! Your character is injured! Your character has a few options to choose from on how to recover though, please go to our Clinic for more details on how to heal.
No! No Cameos get injured in the Taming Attempt. Only the main character trying out for the Taming Attempt.
There are limited Pokémon now due to the events of the Groudon's Reign and everything after that. So some Pokémon have simply moved on to other regions to try to survive in a better environment. However, as time goes by and Adventurers explore the land, they will uncover new areas that hold different Pokémon for one to tame. Not to mention, there are some events that bring in limited-time only Pokémon that migrate to the Sunswept Wastelands.
Good question! In that case, we have the option for those whom want to venture out further to rent a Mount from the Desert Bloom Ranch for a small fee of course!
