Welcome St John the Baptist Family!
September 24, 2025
Grades Pre-K and Kindergarten
Parents,
At your baptism you were given the gift of faith. At your child’s baptism he or she was given the gift of faith. The gift of the Catholic faith has been passed down for generations and generations. We can and should nurture this gift given to us by God, and we should nurture the gift of faith given to our children by raising them to know, love, and serve The Lord. As parents, it is our right and duty to teach our children the Catholic faith.
Once per month, the online lesson will consist of a different element of our faith; it could be a Catholic tradition, a fact about our faith, from the Bible, from our Catholic Catechism, or a Catholic belief. All lessons will expand on that topic so that you will enjoy the beauty and richness of our Catholic faith.
Let's look at a short explanation about
Catholicism
Of the more than 7 billion people in the world, there are over 1.3 billion Catholics worldwide.
A Catholic is a Christian who believes that:
God, the creator of heaven and earth, is revealed to people through Jesus Christ
The purpose of life is to know, love, and serve God through divine worship and service to others
I’m sure all of you know this song!
If you know it, sing along with your parents.
Every time you hear the word “love” on this song, make a heart shape out of your hands.
This month we celebrate two Feast Days about Mary.
September 8 - Mother Mary has a birthday just like the rest of us. What a realization to remember that she is a very human woman who was born and lived an ordinary life until she met up with the angel Gabriel.
September 15 - Our Mother of Sorrows The feast of Our Mother of Sorrows reminds us of Mary's enormous grief. She is seen on this feast as the Mary of the Pieta holding the body of Jesus
Share with your parents what you know about God.
Share how you show that you love God.
Share how you serve God.
See you next week!
