Welcome St John the Baptist Family!

Parents,
At your baptism you were given the gift of faith. At your child’s baptism he or she was given the gift of faith. The gift of the Catholic faith has been passed down for generations and generations. We can and should nurture this gift given to us by God, and we should nurture the gift of faith given to our children by raising them to know, love, and serve the Lord. As parents, it is our right and duty to teach our children the Catholic faith.
Once per month, the online lesson will consist of a different element of our faith; it could be a Catholic tradition, a fact about our faith, from the Bible, from our Catholic Catechism, or a Catholic belief. All lessons will expand on that topic so that you will enjoy the beauty and richness of our Catholic faith.
Holy Father, we come before You with hearts full of faith, trusting in Your Son, Jesus, for the daily miracles that sustain us.
May we recognize Your hand in every blessing, big and small, and find strength in Your promises.
Help us to embrace each day with hope, knowing that with You, all things are possible.
Amen.

Read the following summary about Jesus raising Lazarus from the dead:
Jesus had a very good friend named Lazarus, who lived in Bethany with his sisters, Mary and Martha. One day, Lazarus got very sick. His sisters sent a message to Jesus, but Jesus didn’t come right away.
By the time Jesus arrived in Bethany, Lazarus had already died and been buried in a tomb for four days. Mary and Martha were very sad. Jesus felt their sadness and cried with them. Jesus then went to the tomb and asked people to roll away the stone covering the entrance. He shouted in a loud voice, “Lazarus, come out!”
And guess what? Lazarus came out of the tomb, still wrapped in burial cloths! Jesus had brought him back to life! Everyone was amazed. This miracle showed Jesus’ power over death and gave people hope in the resurrection.
