Welcome St John the Baptist Family!
February 25, 2026
Parents,
At your baptism you were given the gift of faith. At your child’s baptism he or she was given the gift of faith. The gift of the Catholic faith has been passed down for generations and generations. We can and should nurture this gift given to us by God, and we should nurture the gift of faith given to our children by raising them to know, love, and serve the Lord. As parents, it is our right and duty to teach our children the Catholic faith.
Once per month, the online lesson will consist of a different element of our faith; it could be a Catholic tradition, a fact about our faith, from the Bible, from our Catholic Catechism, or a Catholic belief. All lessons will expand on that topic so that you will enjoy the beauty and richness of our Catholic faith
Holy Father, we come before You with hearts full of faith, trusting in Your Son, Jesus, for the daily miracles that sustain us.
May we recognize Your hand in every blessing, big and small, and find strength in Your promises.
Help us to embrace each day with hope, knowing that with You, all things are possible.
Amen.
Today’s lesson is all about Jesus’ miracles and their significance in our lives as teenagers. Jesus performed numerous miracles during His earthly ministry, displaying divine power and compassionate love. Understanding these miracles can deepen our faith, inspire us to trust in God’s power, and motivate us to show compassion to others. Let’s dive into this exciting topic and discover the impact Jesus’ miracles can have on our lives.
To understand why Jesus performed miracles, consider these key lessons:
Show God's Power: Miracles demonstrated God's incredible power and love.
Help Others: Jesus performed miracles to help those in need, showing compassion.
Teach Faith: Miracles encouraged people to believe in God and trust Him.
Fulfill Prophecies: They fulfilled Old Testament prophecies about the Messiah.
Inspire Hope: Miracles brought hope and joy to those who were suffering.
Demonstrate Love: They illustrated Jesus' love for all people, regardless of their situation.
When Jesus sent his disciples out two by two to proclaim the kingdom, they also performed miracles in his name.

The story of Jesus Healing the Paralytic takes place in Capernaum, a town on the northern shore of the Sea of Galilee, where Jesus had established His ministry headquarters. Jesus was teaching in a house that was so crowded with people that no one could get in or out. Four men carrying a paralyzed man on a mat tried to bring him to Jesus for healing, but they couldn't get through the crowd. Rather than give up, they demonstrated remarkable faith and determination by climbing onto the roof, removing the tiles, and lowering the paralyzed man down to Jesus. This story demonstrates the power of faith, the connection between forgiveness and healing, and Jesus' authority over both sin and physical infirmity. It also shows how Jesus responds to faith and how He uses physical healing to demonstrate spiritual truth.
