To promote applied mathematics and computational science in the Kansai region of Japan.

To provide events and facilitate interactions among students and faculty members from different fields.

To provide opportunity for Japanese and international students in the area to develop their global mindset.

The Kyoto University SIAM Student Chapter is open to students interested in mathematics or computing and their applications.

The chapter has no annual dues and members must also be regular or student members of SIAM to have privileges.

Enrolled students in the sponsoring institution are eligible for free student memberships in SIAM, which can be renewed as long as the student remains a member of the chapter.

Student membership ends upon graduation or withdrawal from the university.
