Nundah station opened in 1882 as German at the same time as the line, however it was renamed Nundah only six weeks after opening. In 1890, the line was duplicated through the station from Eagle Junction to Northgate. The line was electrified to Northgate in 1982 and as a result in the increase of patronage as a result of electrification resulted in the quadruplication to Northgate in 1996. Nundah means ‘chain of water holes’ in the local aboriginal language
Nundah station has four platforms consisting of two island platforms. Platform 1 is for Cannon Hill, Cleveland and Roma Street services, platform 2 is for Northgate and Shorncliffe services and platforms 3 and 4 are not in use as they were for Caboolture and Nambour services which from 4 October 2016 are now running express from Petrie to Bowen Hills stopping only at Northgate and Eagle Junction coinciding with the opening of the Redcliffe Peninsula Line opening which don't stop at Nundah either. Redcliffe Peninsula line trains serve all stations from Kippa-Ring to Northgate.
Nundah station has two entrances. One on the eastern side at Duke Street and one on the western side at Station Street.
Nundah does have disability access.
