Selin Sakarcan is a podiatric physician and foot and ankle surgeon. At the Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine, Selin served as Student President while being a House Delegate of the American Podiatric Medical Student Association. She was also the president of the Turkish Student Association and a public relations officer at the American Medical Student Association at Temple University.
A resident at Bridgeport Hospital in Connecticut, Selin Sakarcan is a student member of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons as well as the American Association of Women Podiatrists. She also holds a resident membership in the American Podiatric Medical Association and the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons. At present, the podiatric physician is working on establishing a nonprofit in New Haven, Connecticut, called Back On My Feet. She was also recently accepted to the Harvard Macy Institute for the 2020 Program for Postgraduate Trainees: Future Academic Clinician Educators.
Growing up in a Turkish- American home, Selin Sakarcan was also fluent in Turkish, along with her native English. In school, she learned French, which inspired her to take it as a major in college, together with neuroscience focusing on cellular and molecular neuroscience. An athletic and adventurous person, she was also into physical activities such as tennis, lacrosse, dance, gymnastics, and swimming. She was part of the state champions team for tennis at her alma mater, Harrington High School. Aside from being a physician, Selin is also a seasoned marathoner. Through the years, she has also participated in the Disney Princess Half Marathon, Philadelphia Marathon Weekend, Lululemon SeaWheeze 2020 Half Marathon, and Rock 'n Roll Half Marathons.
