Whistleblower is my Narrative moduel final pitch. We were tasked with creating a narrative for a game based on a song of our choosing. We had full creative freedom and had to present as if to a panal of investors.
We had about 4 weeks to do this project.
Having done some extra research about Unreal Engine, I feel like making this project in Unreal holds just as much merit that Unity does. Having learnt more about the industry since this presentation it feels like although I am not as familar with Unreal, making this project in Unreal would highly benefit me as a developer without taking away from the original idea.
From a design point of view I believe the gameplay of this concept is not fleshed out enough and there are some narrative plots that need some fine tuning.
These are the main aspects I would change/address:
1. Flesh out the corruption plotline, ensure there is enough material to facilitate multiple endings are strong twists based on player progression
2. Flesh out the town exploration gameplay. add depth to the town and NPCs that evolves and grows based on information gathered post loop.
3. Add more depth to the quick time events concept. giving it more dynamic reasons to be in the game past adding interations for the player.
4. Blockout levels that allow me to quickly see and brainstorm ways to expand the environment in a cool and natural way that takes influence from the lego games.
5. Playthrough 12 minutes once again and take notes on how they handled progressing storyline with gameplay and looping for some inspiration.
