During my practicum, I faced challenges related to language barriers, time and financial management, and the diverse personalities of students. Limited experience with regular English communication, particularly in a teaching context, prompted me to participate in peer teaching sessions with fellow SEA Teacher participants, which significantly improved my English proficiency.
Time management was crucial due to the limited duration of the practicum. I created a to-do list to maximize my efficiency and encountered difficulties finding a money changer that accepted my currency, which I managed through strict budgeting.
Engaging the varying personalities of young students was another challenge. To address this, I observed their behaviors and developed strategies to capture their attention. In my teaching demonstration, I used storytelling and an interactive style, introducing the character "Mang Tani" and his fruit orchard, which effectively maintained their focus on the lesson.Â
