The Counter Terrorism Specialist Firearms Officer (CT-SFO) qualification is the highest Authorised Firearms Officer standard within the National Police Firearms Training Curriculum. CTSFOs are responsible for the planning and deployment of intelligence-led firearms operations in support of the CMG Police Service.
Becoming a CTSFO requires a commitment to regular training, operational deployments, and meaningful engagement with community safety.
You must be a member of SCO-19 with the rank of AFO and above to be eligible to be invited. On top of always upholding police procedures, being professional at all times, and showing good RP. Good and consistent hours are a MUST if you are wanting to join.
If you are interested in CTSFO, you could message a CT Command member and inform them of this. The best way to get invited is to stand out to Command with an excellent RP ability.
There are 2 teams within CTSFO, both these team have a dedicated leader called an Operational Senior Manager.

Pace Code C Section 2.6-A - Allows you to keep your identity hidden if you believe the person wishes to use said information with harmful intent.
Note for Guidance: 2A The purpose of paragraph 2.6A(b) is to protect those involved in serious organised crime investigations or arrests of particularly violent suspects when there is reliable information that those arrested or their associates may threaten or cause harm to those involved. In cases of doubt, an officer of inspector rank or above shouldbe consulted.
Pace Code H Section 1.14 - Allows you to refuse the distribution of evidence if you have reasonable suspicion that the suspect will become violent or is violent.
Terrorism & Counter Terrorism (TACT) - Allows you to refuse the distribution of sensitive information or evidence if the person is arrested under this act.
Being a member of the Counter Terrorism comes with many perks, and even more responsibility.
CTSFOs are the most elite members within SCO-19, and the CMG PS overall. You will receive the highest standard of training, be trusted with the highest calibre of weaponry and expected to maintain the upmost level of professionalism.
CTSFOs act as role-models for every member of the CMG PS, and as such candidates will only be accepted in the case that they display an appropriate skill set, including but not limited to maturity, dedication and leadership.
CTSFO is a very strict system where a T2 punishment is an instant non-negotiable removal from CTSFO. T1 punishments are reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
