About MS. SCHERER

I'm the mother of two beautiful girls ages 21 and 19 years. 24 years teacher thriver, student whisperer, mentor/ adviser/cheerleader, crazy for CTE, eLearning Jedi, gaga for Google, recovering shop teacher, curriculum translator, Ed Techie, and a volunteer addict. Essentially if it involves working with others, CTE, STEM/STEAM, or educational technology you will find me there. 

I live in Huntsville, TX with my family. I work full time at Sam Houston State University as Instructional Designer that supports the COSET - Ag, BIOL, CHEM, and Engineering Technology. Lecturer sometimes for ETEC. I sponsor the Society of Women for Excellence in Engineering and Technology (SWEET). Co-sponsor the ETEC ambassdors. In last year of classes as a PhD student at the University of North Texas in Applied Technology and Performance Improvement with emphasis on simulation based training and how it can support the CTE classroom and/or industries. I am also a recovering HMB band mom. I continue to serve on the TSA state contest and support it in anyway that I can.

We share our home with many "4" legged kids: 1-chiweenie dog; 1- cathoulla cur dog; 1-lab dog; 3- cats; 1-African fantail catfish.

Many of you know me as Rachel Baxter, last Dec. 2017 I was legally allowed to change my name back to my maiden last name of Scherer.
