Objectives are to help new teachers:
Part 1: Unpacking the CTE TEKS
Where to find the TEKS for their courses
Understand the CTE TEKS structure
Understand the common components embedded in TEKS for all CTE clusters
How to unpack the TEKS for their courses
Work collaboratively to unpack and discuss the TEKS for at least one of their courses
Part 2: Re-packing the CTE TEKS
Understand the concept of chunking TEKS into units and mapping curriculum.
Where to find Scopes & Sequences for their courses in the TEA Texas CTE Resources Center.
Understand components of an effective lesson plan using the TEA Lesson Planning template
Learn about sources of cluster-specific and course-specific instructional resources, including the Texas CTE Resources Center.
