Charlie Shaw Jr

Charles Shaw, Jr. (Charlie) was born to Charles Shaw in 1913, 1914, or 1915. Growing up, Charlie was best friends with Enoch Scarlet's daughter Edwardine, who was close to Charlie in age.

In 1918, after the mine collapse, the Shaws were run out of town. Charles became an alcoholic, and Charlie's mother eventually left him. 

In the early 1940s, Charlie Jr. visited Charles on his deathbed. Charles begged Charlie Jr. to return to Scarlet Hollow and reveal the truth about Enoch's culpability in the mine collapse.

In 1944, Charlie returned to Scarlet Hollow and began a secret affair with his childhood sweetheart, Edwardine. Edwardine became pregnant with a son (Andrew Charles). 

Charlie visited the Witch for advice on breaking "Enoch's hold" on Edwardine and running away with her. The Witch gave Charlie a map, along with a poem/spell to recite, and insisted that Edwardine be present when Charlie performed the ritual.

In the winter of 1944, Charlie broke into the Scarlet Estate to find Edwardine. On his way to Edwardine, Charlie met the Entity, who described himself as the Scarlet's victim and prisoner. The Entity informed Charlie that Edwardine was pregnant and advised him to leave Scarlet Hollow forever, or else he would die there.

Edwardine found Charlie and the Entity, and she told Charlie not to talk to "it." Convinced that he had the secret to break the Scarlet curse, Charlie went to the map location, where he uncovered a carved stone in a pit. Edwardine bashed Charlie's head in with a baseball bat. His body was left in the pit on top of the stone, covered up for 80 years.

Charlie haunted the Town Hall Annex, desperate for retribution. In October 2022, the Estranged Scarlet Cousin encountered Charlie during a ghost hunt.
